Solve for Happy
by Mo Gawdat
Solve for Happy - Book Review
Solve for Happy by Mo Gawdat is the book that changed the direction of my life. It offers an engineer’s approach to happiness while weaving in deeply personal experiences that challenge his own formula.
At its core, Mo simplifies happiness into three key numbers: 6-7-5 - busting the 6 grand illusions, fixing the 7 blind spots, and holding onto the 5 ultimate truths.
Why This Book Stood Out to Me
Reading Solve for Happy gave me my first real insight into my mind and sparked a conversation with myself about happiness that I'd never had before. It helped me understand that all of my suffering is anchored in the past, and that the only moment that truly exists is now. That realisation alone was life-changing.
Mo’s writing feels like a conversation with a trusted friend, offering guidance without being forceful. The ideas are explained in a way that’s easy to grasp, and he provides practical ways to apply them in everyday life.
Who Should Read This Book?
If you’re looking for a fresh, logical approach to understanding happiness, I highly recommend this book. It’s insightful, thought-provoking, and provides a new perspective on what it really means to be happy.
I’ve recommended it to several people, and they’ve told me it helped them in ways they never expected.
One Thing I Wish Was Included
While the book covers a lot, I do think a short discussion on the benefits of meditation and the importance of consistency when making a change would have been valuable additions.
Final Rating: 4.1/5
This book left a lasting impact on me, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to shift their perspective on happiness or simply have that first conversation to finding your path to joy.
